The Mentorship That Turns Physio Graduates Into Confident Clinicians
A 12-week structured online clinical mentorship for physiotherapists who want to master musculoskeletal assessment, clinical reasoning and body part management with a mentor who works in practice every day.
The Gap Nobody Talks About
University Prepares You. This Completes You.
Most physio graduates finish their degree and walk into private practice without a clear system for clinical reasoning. The experience gap is real and without structured mentorship it takes years to close.
You know the theory but freeze in the room
Clinical reasoning under pressure is a different skill to what university teaches. Without a framework it feels like guesswork with every new patient.
Your outcomes are inconsistent
Some patients improve quickly. Others plateau at session three and you are not sure why. A systematic approach changes this permanently.
No one is reviewing your clinical decisions
Without structured feedback on your actual reasoning and assessment, blind spots compound over years rather than being corrected in weeks.
Your confidence is tied to your patients' results
Great sessions feel great. Tricky cases feel personal. A clear clinical reasoning system breaks this cycle and keeps it broken.
The 12-Week Program
Body Part by Body Part. Week by Week. Built Around Your Caseload.
This online physiotherapy mentorship is structured around real clinical presentations. Every two-week block takes you deeper into a body region building your assessment, reasoning and management skills progressively from week one to week twelve.
Consultation Structure and Clinical Reasoning
We start by building the foundation. You will develop a repeatable consultation structure and a clinical reasoning framework you will use across every body part in the program and for the rest of your career. Subjective assessment, objective assessment, hypothesis generation, clinical flags and treatment planning are all covered in depth.
Lumbar Spine and Lower Back
The most common presentation in private practice. Differential diagnosis, red flag screening, mechanical versus discogenic back pain, the role of the core versus the glutes, and the rehabilitation progressions that drive lasting results. We also cover sciatica, referred pain and how to manage the patient who has tried everything.
Cervical Spine, Neck and Headache
Cervicogenic headache, whiplash, cervical radiculopathy and postural dysfunction. We cover clinical screening, manual therapy decision-making, neural tissue assessment and the deep neck flexor progressions that actually work. How to identify the patient who needs imaging and how to manage the patient who has had it already.
Shoulder Complex
Rotator cuff tendinopathy, impingement, frozen shoulder, acromioclavicular joint injuries and scapular dyskinesis. A structured approach to the most complex and frequently mismanaged joint in private practice including how to differentiate conditions clinically and build rehabilitation programs that actually load the right structures.
Hip and Knee
From patellofemoral pain and ACL rehabilitation to hip impingement, gluteal tendinopathy and IT band syndrome. Load management principles, exercise prescription, return to sport decision-making and the clinical framework for managing the athlete versus the sedentary patient presenting with the same diagnosis.
Ankle, Foot and Program Consolidation
Ankle sprains, Achilles tendinopathy and plantar fasciitis including the load management and tendon rehabilitation principles that apply across the entire lower limb. The final week is a full consolidation: you bring your most complex unsolved cases and we work through them together using the complete clinical reasoning framework you have built throughout the program.
How It Works
Two Formats. Every Week. Fully Online.
The mentorship alternates between two high-value online formats every week for 12 consecutive weeks. Both are built around your real patients and your real clinical challenges not generic theory.
Fortnightly Deep Dive 60 Minutes via Zoom
Every fortnight you work through the current body part block in depth with Julian. These sessions cover the clinical framework for assessment and management, work through case scenarios and address the specific questions you are facing in your own practice. Structured, focused and directly applicable from the next day you are in clinic.
Weekly Case Reviews 60 Minutes via Zoom
On the alternate weeks you present a case from your own caseload. It can be a stuck patient, a complex presentation or a case where you are unsure of your reasoning. Julian works through the case with you live identifying gaps, refining your assessment and building a revised management plan. Every session is recorded so you can revisit it.
Structured Clinical Resources
Before each deep dive session you receive structured resources for that body part assessment frameworks, clinical reasoning templates, red flag checklists and evidence-based management guides. You arrive at every session prepared, not passive.
Between-Session Access
You are not on your own between sessions. Direct messaging access to Julian for clinical questions that come up during your week. When a tricky patient walks through the door on a Tuesday you do not have to wait until the next scheduled session to get guidance.
Curriculum Coverage
Every Major Region. Systematic Progression.
The online physiotherapy mentorship moves through the body systematically with graded complexity. By week twelve you have a proven clinical reasoning system you can apply to any musculoskeletal presentation you encounter in private practice.
PHYZFIT Health and Rehab
Your Mentor
Built by a Clinician Who Still Treats Patients Every Day
Julian De Rosa holds a Master of Physiotherapy from the University of Sydney and a Bachelor of Sport and Exercise Science from the University of Technology Sydney. He is Director and Principal Physiotherapist at PHYZFIT Health and Rehab, with clinics in Bexley North and Marrickville a practice he built from the ground up in private practice.
Julian is currently Head Physiotherapist for Fraser Park FC in the National Premier League 2 football competition, where he manages complex sports injuries, return to play decision-making and elite athlete rehabilitation across a full season. He was previously Head Physiotherapist at Inner West Hawks FC and Sydney University SFC, where he led the club-wide Return to Play rehabilitation program.
Outside of physiotherapy Julian is a competitive ICN natural bodybuilder which gives him a perspective on load management, strength training and gym-based injury rehabilitation that very few physio mentors can offer. He understands what it means to train seriously and to manage the injuries that come with it.
The PHYZFIT clinical mentorship is built from Julian's own experience of entering private practice without a clear system learning what works, what does not, and what every physio graduate deserves to be taught from day one. The program is the mentorship he wished he had.

Common Questions
Frequently Asked Questions
Is this mentorship suitable for new grad physios?
Yes new graduates are exactly who this program is designed for. The 12-week structure and body part by body part curriculum is built to close the gap between university and private practice as efficiently as possible. Physios with two to five years of experience also benefit significantly, particularly in refining their clinical reasoning and building a more systematic approach.
Is this a course or a mentorship?
It is a mentorship, not a course. Unlike pre-recorded CPD content, every session in this program is live and built around your real caseload, your real patients and your real clinical questions. The case review format in particular is uniquely valuable because the learning comes from your own clinical decisions not someone else's scripted examples.
Is the mentorship fully online?
Yes. All sessions take place via Zoom. Both the fortnightly deep dives and the weekly case reviews are fully online, making the program accessible to physios anywhere in Australia. Every session is recorded so you can revisit the content at any time.
How are sessions scheduled?
Session times are arranged directly with Julian at the start of the program based on mutual availability. Both the fortnightly deep dives and the weekly case reviews are scheduled in advance so you can plan around your clinical workload.
Can my employer fund this as continuing professional development?
Yes. Many physios have their professional development budget cover part or all of the cost. A tax invoice and program description are provided on enrolment. All prices exclude GST. This program is directly aligned with AHPRA continuing professional development requirements for physiotherapists. Contact Julian to discuss if your employer needs specific documentation.
How many participants are in each program?
The program is intentionally small. Julian works with a limited number of participants at a time to ensure every case review and every question receives genuine, tailored attention. This is not a group webinar. It is a direct mentorship relationship.
What do physios typically get out of the 12 weeks?
By the end of the program you will have a repeatable clinical reasoning system, significantly improved confidence across all major musculoskeletal body regions, a structured approach to assessment and management that works in real private practice, and the ability to handle complex or stuck cases without the uncertainty that follows most new graduates through their early years.
